Principles Of Black Belt

black-belt-web

As a dedicated student of the martial arts, I will live by the principles of Black Belt:

  • Modesty

  • Courtesy

  • Integrity

  • Perseverance

  • Courage

  • Indomitable Spirit

Our goal is black belt excellence and we lead by example.

What about respect?

Respect is a core principle of martial arts but isn't listed seperatley in our principles and I've often been asked why?

Respect denotes both a positive feeling of esteem for a person or other entity, and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem.  It can also be conduct in accord with a specific ethic of respect. Rudeconduct is usually considered to indicate a lack of respect, disrespect, where as actions that honor somebody or something indicate respect. Specific ethics of respect are of fundamental importance to various cultures. Respect for tradition and legitimate authority is identified as one of five fundamental moralvalues. In essence then, all our principles are about respect. Respect to oneself and respect to others. To live by these principles results in a person who is respectful overall and a true martial artist.
